Silver and Bronze at Masters Nationals

It's been a whirlwind. Most people prepare months for nationals, well I guess I don't fall into the "most" people catergory. After a last minute change of the race schedule, I had to reschedule my flight so that I could race Friday night instead of Saturday night. It is really amazing how things work out when it is mean to be. I managed to get the last seat on the morning flight into Denver. A local rider from LA who I met a few times at Encino also decided last minute to head out to Master Nats was on my same flight and gave me a ride to the track in Colorado Springs. A few close friends of mine who were racing all week hosted me and let me use the hide away bed for the duration of my stay. These same friends helped me get to the track every day and let me borrow their parents and their camera to go do some siteseeing on Satuday. On top of all that coming together the support and friends at Nationals is AMAZING.
The positive vibe and support gave me a boost of confidence for my points race. I could hear my "fans" cheering for me all around the track. It was pure inspiration. I raced one hell of a points race. I was racing to win and it showed. In the end I missed the stars and bars by 2 points, but it was quite a show.
Team Hammer 123 that I participated in for the team pursuit made a great effort for a bronze finish and a great way to finish up a week of Masters Nationals.
I'll post more photos later in the week when I settle in from the chaos that IS RACING.
Thanks to everyone who called, wished me luck and supported me through Nats. The list is long and I hope to talk to all of you one on one soon!
