I'm finally coming up for air after moving from Chatsworth to Scotts Valley the 18th of January. The first few weeks were hectic, as we all know the weather has been WET! It started raining the day I arrived and we have only had about 5 dry days since. Even today, it was supposed to be sunny without a cloud in the sky. It ended up being cloudy and even a bit of drizzle.
The first week the house lost power for 4 days. The movers had to move our stuff in the rain and in the pitch black. No rest for the weary. I immedatly put in a 45 hour work week, spending the day unpacking at work and the nights unpacking at home.
The riding when I have been able to get out on the road has been great. The redwoods are beautiful. The climmbing intense. My coworkers are in great shape. I spend most of the time chaseing them. No doubt I will be uping my game this season, just due the the competitive lunch rides at work. Today was the longest ride I have been able to do, 50 miles with 3200 feet of climbing.
I am posting a photo of the group I went riding with last weekend up Mt Diablo. We had a blast. It was a bit of a drive for me but well worth it to meet my new teammy Starla and see my coach Adnan before he headed off back to Portland. In the photo L-R is Adnan, Starla, Me, Adam and Jeff.
More to come. I hope to get better weather so I can start posting photos of the views around this place. Pretty awesome!
Enjoy!
