I am finally getting a moment to sit down and post a bit for all of you following Speedweek out here. It has been a successful trip already with Anna Lang placing 7th at Athens Twilight and 4th at Roswell crit. We are so close to a win I can feel itAthens has its own challenges this year with the rain. The course is always fast with fast corners but add a bit of rain and you have a danger zone. The women managed only a few crashes but the last corner before bell lap took out about 15 women including 3 of the 4 of us.
No worries, besides for a bit of head trauma, contusions and road rash, our spirits are up.
Roswell was a warm and sunny day with a great turn out. Roswell is fast and fun. I enjoy the hill on the back side. Yes, it make the course challenging but my mouth waters as we pass the rib joint on the back side every time, I always consider turning into the driveway instead of finishing hte race. Personally I was a bit sore and content to try and make a big move if it there were an opening but the opportunity to not present iteself and I managed to finish in the pack. Anna finisihed 4th with Starla and Ericka in the top 20.
We made the long trip to Beaufort SC today. It is always worth the drive coming out here. Besides for the great racing, our host Gary and Pat had the neighbors and team Vera Bradley and Colovita over for dinner. We just wrapped things up, cleaned up the kitchen and are ready to hit the sack for a full day of resting and an evening of racing.
