Tour De Nez Wrap up

The Tour Dez Nez was quite the eventful bike race for us Kittens. All of us had success in the TT with me placing 8th, Starla 9th and Anna 11th. We went into Friday nights crit with high hopes of a win. The Friday night crit was a new course to the Nez. The 1.5 mile crit wound it's way around a park and over the Truckee river in Downtown Reno. A mighty tailwind made for epic sprints down the finishing straight away. the crit was aggressive with Tibco, Luna Chix, Touchstone, Third Pillar and VK trying to get in a breakway. At 2 laps to go the first crash of the evening the took me out resulted in me chasing the entire last lap only to catch on 1K to the finish. Anna took the win, I took 10th. But... Here's the kicker!
There was an EXTREMELY bad crash and the narrowing part of the finish taking out Starla and a Tibco, MS Now and a Third Pillar rider. The chief referee decided to relegate Anna to last stating that she caused the crash. Of course Anna did not cause the crash and we protested the decision but the decision held firm at the relegation.
Starla spend 1/2 the evening in ER but she is recovering well. She has bad road rash and lots of contusions. She busted her Stork but our mechanic Dan is building her up another. Thanks Dan!

NORTHSTAR! The final stage was hosted by Northstar ski resort. It was beautiful and fun. The course was challenging, fast and technical. The best part was racing through the village on the brick with all the spectators lounging around. It was really a great feeling to be in such a beautiful place to ride! I ended up 9th in the stage. Anna crashed out in a technical turn. As I write she is on her way to San Diego to get her shoulder looked at.

3 days, 3 stage, I managed to finish 7th in GC for the weekend.
