Day 3 Irritably Hurt!

I seriously wish there was a 1-800 help line with a head injury. Last night the paid in my head hurt so much I would have stabbed my eye with a fork if it would have relieved some of the pressure. To wake up this morning stiff and feeling worse physically did not help my attitude heading into the start of another day not being up to full speed.

I did a bit of web research and found out it is “normal” to feel irritable and depressed in addition to other symptoms such as headache, nausea, ringing in the ears, neck pain, and feeling anxious, upset, irritable and tired. What I do about it is the challenge. When my attitude is down in the dumps, I usually head out for a ride or other physical activity to pep me up but that is not an option yet.

I have been dabbling around in a few books and puttering around the garden. I did manage to cook up some blueberry bran muffins and a batch of chocolate chip and anything else in the cupboard cookies but the real challenge will come this weekend when I might go a bit stir crazy.

I have thought about getting some Soduku puzzle books but can’t get through those when my mind is sharp. Then I thought about diving into Netflix and stay in my PJ’s all weekend while I eat may way through the entire Ben and Jerry’s collection.

I’ll look into some more “brain challenges” tomorrow. Who knows if that will even help? I hope to touch base with a few other seasoned riders who have recovered from a head injury for some advice.

“Thought of the Day”

To me this seems more like life advice

The treatment for a concussion is rest. If you have a concussion, you will need to quiet your mind as well as your body for healing to take place
