It's Satuday morning and I'm sitting here with a fresh cup of Peet's reflecting on the week and thought I would share.
I haven't even mounted the saddle this morning and it's already been a stellar week of riding.
Monday was a fun solo recovery ride, which suited me fine for Wednesday's attack fest. I did campus loop (UCSC) from work.
Thursday night rocked! It has been working out that Thursday nights seemed to be jump practice at Z's. The photo here is from Feb 3rd's practice. Honestly, I don't know how it happened that I went from trail riding to trail jumping but I am hooked. I know it can be dangerous, as I learned this past Thursday when I took a huge hit to the dirt busting my new Bell Varient on the 1st ride, but the reward is additicing. I really enjoy clearing large gaps in a single bound and have been scaring the poop out of myself. Crit racing is just as scary so I see Thursday night practice as tough mental training.
Friday was another gorgeous day in Scotts Valley so Mt Charlie, Soquel/San Jose lunch ride was in order. The "new guy" wanted to join, so naturally an inititan was in order. Man.... being the new guys sucks. We weren't relentless but we had a bit of fun with him. He could barely move by the time he got back to the office. Good Times!
I am really excited for this weekend. Besides the sleeping in factor, the day is shaping up for a high of 70. YeaH!!! All of my warm clothes are in the wash, so it's shorts and jersey only today.
Sunday is SUPER DEMO DAY!!! We hitting all the trails and Demonstation Forest. I haven't had a 5+ hour moutain bike ride for 3 weeks, so I am looking foward to the challenge.
Now get out and ride!
